I teach group classes and private lessons in and around Austin, Texas. After moving to Austin for my husband's job, I found myself without a college teaching position for the first time in years. During my years teaching as a college professor at many universities and community colleges around the country, I noticed that large group classes, competition and grading don't always foster the most growth for all individuals. Now I teach in small groups and one-on-one. I teach in less formal settings, that are far from intimidating institutional spaces. Instead I teach in quiet community studios and people's cozy homes. I truly believe that everyone deserves a chance to learn to draw!

I find that in a more relaxed setting with more individual attention and less competition, I am able to teach more to my students, and we all have a lot more FUN while learning!

If you've been too shy to draw in front of others; If you want to learn classical drawing skills so that you may draw realistically;  If you haven't wanted to deal with rush hour traffic, university parking and red tape; If you want to encourage your child to develop their hand-eye-coordination, skills in visual perception and the ability to focus for longer periods of time; If you've always wanted to learn to draw, but never invested the time to learn, THESE ARE THE ART LESSONS FOR YOU!
